Sterotypes, labels, and assumptions

Hi! So guys, I know this isn't very arty, but I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts with the world.

There are so many people out there who are very judgmental. They label someone as soon as they walk in. There are many that THINK they aren't judgmental, but honestly, we all have a bit of assumption - ness within us.

I believe that you shouldn't judge a person by almost ANYTHING! Definitely not their appearance, but that we already know. I don't think that we should judge them by their actions either. Does taking drugs make you a horrible person? NO! Does drinking make you crazy? NO! Does wearing short clothes make you slutty? NO! Does being literate make you a nerd? NO!

Why?

Firstly, you don't know the reasons behind it, they might have been taking a drug for some disorder, and then got addicted to it. And with clothes, honestly, it's just their perception of beauty. Everyone has a different view of things.

I have a theory that what we perceive as beautiful depends on our experiences. If we fall in love with someone very "ugly" (to society), we'll find them beautiful. If we see someone that looks similar to that person, we perceive that as beautiful. Same with "uglyness". The reason why we all have a standard for beauty, meaning, we in society have a standard for beauty is because of the media. They promote a certain kind of look, and we are brainwashed into believing this is what beauty is.

Secondly, you don't know how they were brought up. Maybe they are doing something wrong, only they don't know it's wrong, it is the right thing to do in their view of things. It's only wrong in our "world", our society. Sometimes people say something without understanding the impact it creates.

Never judge a person by anything, anything at all, unless you know the person right down the very last hair.

A bad person is ONLY one who not just knows, but UNDERSTANDS, the negative impact of their actions, and does it knowing that it is the WRONG thing to do, even in their eyes.

I recently read a book, where the main character was a pedophile, but he kidnapped a beautiful little girl because he thought that it was the right thing to do, that he was saving that girl from poverty and abuse, not understanding the boundless love her mother has towards her. When he finds that his feelings for her are not as pure as he initially thought, he lets her go, and commits suicide, because he wouldn't be able to live without her.

We call him a pedophile, but to him, it's true love.
